Come out and help clean and restore Mt Olive Cemetery, the oldest African American Cemetery in Clarksville. There are over 1300 indentured slaves buried on the 7.3 acres. What: Mt. Olive Cemetery Clean Up Day When: April 24th Where: Mt Olive Cemetery The day will start at 8:00 AM, with an opening ceremony, and close at 4:00 PM with a closing ceremony. Including Civil-War rein-actors. We plan to mark each grave site (which are sunken due to the wooden boxes slaves were buried in having deteriorated) with a small American flag.
